The Iranian export market for steel billet and slab has been largely quiet in the week to Wednesday September 18 and no new bookings were heard, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday.
Iranian producers were offering billet at $360 per tonne fob, while buyers believed $340-350 per tonne would be a workable price.
“No new bookings will be made before next week, because mills are already booked,” one trader said.
Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel billet, export, fob ports Iran, was $350-360 per tonne on September 18, unchanged week-on-week.
Slab offers from Iran were heard at $360-370 per tonne fob this week, while customers were targeting $350 per tonne fob.
Again, no major deals were heard.
